Demonology Meets Science – Zaffis Interview
We found a great six-part video from 2008. It’s a discussion between John Zaffis (Haunted Collector) and Patrick Burns (Haunting Evidence), recorded on the haunted ship, the Queen Mary.
Listen to these two professionals discuss things most people never deal with and, we hope, never have to.
Part 1 -
Part 2 -
Part 3 -
Part 4 -
Part 5 -
Part 666…? (Just kidding. They’re actually talking about how paranormal research is usually “quite boring,” as Patrick Burns explains.)
Brian Cano Is Not Brian Crano

We're always looking for more info about Syfy's 'Haunted Collector' and its stars, including Brian Cano.
For a few minutes, we were very excited.
It looked like we’d discovered something new about Brian Cano, one of the stars of Syfy’s Haunted Collector.
He seems like the dark horse in this paranormal series. If Syfy has an ounce of sense, when Haunted Collector is a vague memory, Syfy will still feature Cano in their shows. We know he’s been involved in film making. He might be a very smart producer.
So, our eyes lit up when we saw Brian Cano’s name connected with SXSW and film awards. “Brian Cano” isn’t exactly a common name, and since we knew he’d been involved in SCARED and other film productions… well, why not?
Besides, it looked like it was verified by an IMDb entry. How could we go wrong with that?

Alas, when we clicked from one link to the next, determined to confirm that it’s Haunted Collector‘s Brian Cano, we discovered the typo. It looks like it’s all over the interwebs.
The SXSW “Bag of Hammers” guy is actually Brian Crano. Even the URL gets the spelling wrong: http://www.ioncinema.com/news/id/6217/sxsw-2011-interview-with-brian-cano-a-bag-of-hammers
That story may have been a dead end for us, but we’re not quitting. The reporters here at Haunted Collector Info will continue our day-and-night search for… well, info about Syfy’s Haunted Collector TV series.
Someday, we bet Brian Crano and Brian Cano will be at an A-list party in Hollywood, laughing about how they were once mistaken for each other.
More ‘Haunted Collector’ Reviews

In our opinion, this first review of Syfy's 'Haunted Collector' really hits the target.
We keep searching the web for more, good reviews of Syfy’s Haunted Collector show.
A lot of them don’t show up on page one of Google. Some Haunted Collector aren’t indexed for… well, months.
(Maybe Google was waiting to be sure the show got renewed?)
We keep searching anyway. Every good review gives us more insights. For us, the Haunted Collector is an enigma. We keep watching it. We also keep griping about how it was edited. Or maybe it’s the production in general.
We keep hoping someone else will figure out what’s really bothering us about this show, because – so far – we can’t put a finger on it.
This review scores a lot of points with us.

By contrast, the next review (is it actually a review?) is so garbled, we’re pretty sure it was written by some (very bad) software. We’re including it as comedy.

Brian Cano – On the Road with Haunted Collector Season 2
We’ve been predicting that Brian Cano will emerge as one of the enduring stars of Syfy’s Haunted Collector.
He has expertise, dry humor and a cheerful willingness to tackle whatever ghost hunting throws at him.
So, we’re glad to see he’s launched his own blog about the show, and he’s actively at Twitter.
In his on-the-road Blogspot blog, Brian Cano keeps us updated about filming Season 2 of Syfy’s Haunted Collector.
Here’s his first blurb.

I’m Brian J. Cano, from Haunted Collector on SyFy. I’m simple yet complex. Get to know me and you’ll see why. Come on the road with me as we film Season 2 of Haunted Collector. …
Be sure to click on the links to see the following full entries, and check out his photo. The current picture on the blog makes Brian look like he’s exploring a haunted mine shaft. Since he’s the guy they send under the house with the snakes and spiders, or into the dusty, cobwebbed crawl space with the broken glass, that photo seems just right.

Case Number Three is a wrap…just got in after a good night of merriment with the cast and crew. Our sound guys, the Gouldy’s (who I thought was spelled like the precious metal because they’re so valuable to us) popped and locked and got down to the beat when Michael Jackson came on. Priceless! We love those guys.
We’ve worked hard this past week. The case before this was in Florida and it was quite a challenge. This last case…all I can say right now is crazy! …
In that entry, he mentions being in an attic with pigeon carcasses. Yeah, it sounds like Brian’s continuing to be the go-to (or go-fer) guy when it’s equally paranormal and real-life creepy.
We won’t keep posting parts of his blog, but recommend you bookmark Brian J. Cano at Blogspot. We like his writing style. It brings more depth to the show and increases our interest. (Hey, with no show, this website wouldn’t be here.)
We know he can’t say much, due to his studio contract, but we’re looking forward to when Brian Cano can talk more about Season 2 of Haunted Collector.
Haunted Collector – ‘Old School’ Rules!

Flour, baby powder or cornstarch - Old school ghost hunting methods rule!
Syfy’s Haunted Collector is one of the few paranormal TV shows to feature ‘old school’ ghost hunting methods.
In the brief first season of Haunted Collector, we saw John Zaffis’s team – especially Brian Cano – using ghost hunting techniques from the mid 20th century.
One of those methods is to use flour, baby powder or cornstarch. Dust it lightly over the floor or any area where you’re looking for a ghostly imprint.
Then, wait and see if anything happens.
This method was especially popular in the 1950s and 1960s when people were investigating haunted magnetic hills. There’s usually a story about a school bus tragedy or about ghostly soldiers who push the car up a slight hill. Their handprints show up on any vehicles that are dusted ahead of time, using flour or powder or something like that.
Now Syfy’s Haunted Collector TV series is getting attention for bringing techniques like that to light. Pun intended.
Even skeptics are commenting:

While we’ve never been sure that some of these methods work, we admire the Haunted Collector team for being honest about their failures.
